Agricultura invierte en la recuperación del sector cafetalero
Ministro Limber Cruz entrega insumos y plantas, anuncia créditos para impulso del sector

SANTIAGO, 22 de diciembre de 2020.- El Ministerio de Agricultura busca relanzar producción cafetalera en esta demarcación con facilidades de crédito, asesoría técnica, rehabilitación de caminos e insumos como semillas, fertilizantes contra la roya y plantas para siembra. 

El anuncio lo hizo el ministro Limber Cruz, quien dijo que la medida busca aumentar la productividad a más de un quintal por tarea y que para ello el Gobierno ha dispuesto mil millones de pesos a tasa cero para financiamiento e impulso del sector cafetalero y aumentar la capacidad de exportación. 

El funcionario hizo entrega, además, de tres cajas de fertilizantes para prevención de enfermedades en más de dos mil tareas de siembras de café, y expresó que este aporte va destinado en apoyo a los pequeños productores de dicha demarcación.  

“Estoy seguro de que el café puede volver a sus años de gloria, ahora, tenemos que renovar, buscar las mejores variedades, el rendimiento e invertir”, indicó el funcionario.   

El Ministro aseguró que tienen varias unidades de equipos pesados en el municipio, los cuales están ofreciendo asistencia en la preparación de terrenos y la rehabilitación de los caminos. 

Asimismo, Cruz anunció la designación de dos técnicos, uno especialista en producción de café, el cual brindará asesoría y capacitaciones a los productores, y otro en el Banco Agrícola que estará a cargo de los créditos. 

Durante el recorrido por la zona productiva de Juncalito acompañaron al ministro Cruz el expresidente Hipólito Mejía, quien destacó la capacidad productora que tiene la zona; Fernando Durán, administrador Banco Agrícola, Leónidas Batista, director ejecutivo Indocafe, el Alcalde de municipal, Elvis Inoa, y otros funcionarios. 

En ese sentido, Durán habló sobre las facilidades de los financiamientos dispuestas por el Gobierno para el relanzamiento del sector, y como una medida de apoyo a los productores y agricultores para hacer más rentables sus cosechas.  

“Juncalito es posiblemente el lugar de referencia para el café en la República Dominicana y me siento muy contento de compartir con los productores y habitantes de esta comunidad que han mantenido toda esta belleza. La revalorización que ha estado dando el Gobierno a este sector tendrá su recompensa”, sostuvo.  

En tanto que Luis Núñez, presidente de Asociación de Productores de Café Especial (Adoprocaes) presentó la situación del sector en la jurisdicción. A la vez, agradeció las medidas dispuesta por las autoridades y dijo que este relanzamiento permitirá dinamizar la economía de los habitantes de la zona alta de Santiago. 

El Ministerio de Agricultura en los primeros tres meses inició un plan de recuperación del sector cafetalero y ha logrado reincorporar áreas de siembra y se han alcanzado más de nueve millones de plantas sembradas. 

Además, se ha cumplido en casi la totalidad la planificación que se tiene para el sector, con el cultivo de alrededor de 43 mil tareas a la fecha. Luego del conversatorio en el Club ILAC, las autoridades visitaron una procesadora de café y un centro de acopio.
